About Me

saving money in style: hi, my name is cathy. i worked in social work and activity planning with senior citizens for 17 years & loved it. senior citizens have my heart. born & raised in atlanta. moved to florida after college and lived there for about 15 yrs. then back to atlanta 10 years ago to be closer to my mom and dad. i am married to my best friend. we are very happy. we have a sweet cocker spaniel named bella. samson (our other cocker spaniel) recently went to heaven :( i am a christian i love christ and god's word. i "retired" from healthcare several years ago and began my passion for creating: interior design, sewing, crafts... anything i could get my hands on. (photo shows me and my 83 year old mom at one of my craft shows at cabbagetown in atlanta. "crunchy cute" is modern day hippie with a touch of dainty and adorable. my outlet for creativity. i make purses, cuffs, embellish jackets, jeans... anyway... back to why i am here doing this blog... four years ago my husband and i started the dave ramsey financial peace seminar. i didn't like the paper envelopes so i made my own fabric ones. and that is how it all started!
